Caring for a loved one at home can be rewarding. However, it is also important for you as the caregiver to take care of yourself and for the one you care for to benefit from socializing with others.

Optage Adult Day Center
Optage Adult Day Center is dedicated to providing activity in a safe and structured environment for its participants, helping them to stay in their homes and communities by offering services that monitor and provide for their physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs.
Those attending receive assistance with health care and make new friends. In addition, respite is provided allowing you to go to school or work, run errands, or simply to relax for a while.
Optage Adult Day Services
A typical day includes a variety of opportunities to increase socialization and/or companionship. A daily exercise program is included, as are nutritional meals and snacks. Sing-a-longs, a variety of table and card games, story time with the children from nearby Warm World, “Happy Paws” animal visits, and movies and popcorn in the Boutwells Theater are all popular activities enjoyed by the participants. In addition, the staff at the Adult Day Center provides assistance with personal cares offering services for showers, hair care wash and set, foot care, and blood pressure readings.Caregiver Support
A monthly support group for caregivers is also offered at Boutwells Landing. In addition to regular group meetings, guest speakers are frequently featured to address topics of interest that educate and inform.Hours and Costs
Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Extended hours are available for up to one hour before and/or one hour after regular hours if desired. Program costs are paid privately or through long-term care insurance, and assistance programs for eligible participants including Veterans' Affairs, Washington County Assistance, or the MS Society.
